{"id":233,"date":"2013-01-04T04:55:14","date_gmt":"2013-01-04T04:55:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/biertech.com\/?p=233"},"modified":"2013-01-11T03:12:43","modified_gmt":"2013-01-11T03:12:43","slug":"sterilant-blend-phaseout","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/biertech.com\/?p=233","title":{"rendered":"Sterilant Blend Phaseout"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In August 2012, Honeywell announced that it is phasing out its line of Oxyfume\u00ae ethylene oxide sterilant blends by the end of 2013.\u00a0 The phaseout is in response to U.S. Clean Air Act regulations that will ban the sale and use of most HCFC-based products like Oxyfume in the United States as of Dec. 31, 2014 (Reference <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epa.gov\/Ozone\/title6\/phaseout\/classtwo.html\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.epa.gov\/Ozone\/title6\/phaseout\/classtwo.html<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Honeywell has established a website <a href=\"http:\/\/www.honeywell-sterilants.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.honeywell-sterilants.com\/<\/a> to assist their customers which we recommend you visit.<\/p>\n<p>EO B.I.E.R. Test Systems manufactured before 1995 are likely operating with the current sterilant blend, Oxyfume 2000, which is the combination of 8.6% EO gas with 91.4% HCFC-124.\u00a0 Without an EO gas source, your test system is in effect &#8211; obsolete.\u00a0 If you have not already begun, you should start planning now.\u00a0 The clock is ticking, will you be ready?<\/p>\n<p>If you wish to continue to operate your existing EO B.I.E.R.
